A special THANKS to all returning shows. Without you, the exhibitors, and all of the wonderful horses that pass through our gate, this arena would not be possible. We look forward to working with you in 2012 for even bigger and better events!
On September 26 the Ohio Valley chapter of the Friesian Horse Association of North America will hold their annual Keuring (inspection). Friesian horses are the royal breed of the Netherlands best known for Dressage and fancy carriage. Once a year teams of Judges from the studbook (FPS) in the Netherlands come to inspect Friesians in the U.S. and Canada. Friesians are known for their gentle personality, royal presence and beauty (often called “Black Pearls”).
The first pure bred Friesians were reintroduced into this country right here in Canton, Ohio in 1979. Today there are only about 10,000 in the U.S. To put this in perpective there are over 6 million registered Quarter Horses in the U.S. This may be a once in a lifetime chance to see this magnificent limited breed.
“When God flooded the world he couldn’t destroy his magical Unicorns, so he just hid them. He took away their horns, made them all black and called them Friesians”. Come see this horse and see how true that is!!!
